Digital Marketing Account Manager

About the Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Account Manager to manage a portfolio of local business clients and help them improve their online visibility and performance.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for building strong client relationships, managing and optimizing Google Business Profiles, monitoring local SEO performance, reviewing analytics, and turning data into clear recommendations. You’ll also use AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to streamline research and content creation while applying your own judgment to ensure the final work is accurate, useful, and aligned with each client’s brand.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, comfortable working independently, and able to communicate digital marketing insights clearly to non-technical clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of local business clients.

• Build strong client relationships through consistent communication and proactive updates.

• Understand each client’s goals, priorities, and business needs.

• Keep clients informed about progress, results, opportunities, and potential issues.

• Manage accounts end-to-end and follow through on client commitments.

Local SEO Strategy & Execution

• Manage and optimize Google Business Profiles for local business clients.

• Monitor local search rankings and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Manage reviews and support accurate local business information and listings.

• Implement on-page and off-page SEO strategies tailored to local markets.

• Identify performance trends, ranking changes, and areas requiring attention.

• Recommend practical SEO improvements based on client goals and performance data.

Performance Reporting & Analytics

• Use Google Search Console to monitor search performance, rankings, and potential issues.

• Use Google Analytics to analyze website and user performance.

• Interpret marketing data and identify meaningful trends and insights.

• Prepare clear, actionable performance reports for clients.

• Explain SEO and analytics results in a simple, easy-to-understand way for non-technical clients.

• Use reporting insights to guide recommendations and account strategy.

AI-Assisted Workflow

• Use Claude and ChatGPT to support content creation, research, analysis, and day-to-day deliverables.

• Use AI tools to improve efficiency and streamline repetitive workflows.

• Review, edit, and fact-check AI-generated content before delivering it to clients.

• Ensure AI-assisted outputs meet quality, accuracy, brand, and client-specific standards.

• Know when AI output needs significant rewriting or should not be used.

Issue Resolution & Escalation

• Monitor client accounts and identify performance dips or potential issues early.

• Investigate problems and determine appropriate next steps.

• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve client issues.

• Communicate proactively with clients when issues arise.

• Escalate concerns when necessary, with clear context and recommended solutions.

Growth & Upsell Opportunities

• Identify opportunities where additional services could benefit clients.

• Recognize when services such as Google Ads may support a client's goals.

• Communicate recommendations clearly and professionally without being overly sales-focused.

• Work with the appropriate internal team when an additional service is identified.

Required Experience & Skills:

2+ years of experience in digital marketing, account management, or a related role.

• Experience working with local businesses or small-to-medium-sized businesses is strongly preferred.

• Hands-on experience managing and optimizing Google Business Profiles.

• Experience with Google Business Profile review management and local listing accuracy.

• Working knowledge of Google Search Console and Google Analytics.

• Ability to interpret marketing data and explain findings to non-technical clients.

• Professional experience using AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT.

• Strong editorial judgment and ability to review and improve AI-generated content.

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

• Excellent organization and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and priorities independently.

• Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills.

• Availability to work full-time during U.S. Mountain Time hours.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Google Ads.

• Experience managing multiple local SEO accounts simultaneously.

• Experience working with local service businesses or other location-based businesses.

• Familiarity with additional SEO, analytics, reporting, or marketing platforms.

• Experience identifying opportunities for account growth or additional services.

Typical Day:

Your day will balance proactive account management, local SEO work, client communication, and performance analysis.

You may start by reviewing client messages and identifying anything that requires immediate attention. You’ll then work on tasks such as optimizing Google Business Profiles, reviewing Google Search Console for ranking or search-performance changes, analyzing Google Analytics data, and preparing client reports.

You’ll also use Claude or ChatGPT to assist with research and content-related tasks, while reviewing and refining the output before it is delivered. Throughout the day, you’ll communicate with clients, provide updates, address issues, coordinate with internal teams, and identify opportunities to improve account performance or introduce additional services where appropriate.
