What defines our next Email Designer

Scentbird is looking for a visionary Email Designer to help conceive and design our email marketing initiatives for Scentbird. The perfect candidate will have a clear understanding of email design, with partnered problem solving skills for enhanced marketing needs, as well as the highest level of craft for design, creating beautiful, modern experiences for both mobile and desktop email environments — comfortable using AI tools to help move quickly from concept to finished, on-brand designs. This Email Designer will be responsible for helping develop engaging experiences that allow ease-of use within our customer base, while telling an immersive story and eliciting an emotional response from our customers through rich visual design.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Team Directors to deliver ideas and experiences that create a visionary future for Scentbird, while exceeding the expectations of our customers. They’ll also need to focus on using AI to help design entire emails and flows, and to have their AI tool be capable of helping them create conceptual AND finished email designs.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Have a deep understanding of how Claude Design and other design AI tools work, as a core part of this role is working with these tools to help ideate, sketch and completely create email designs.

• Use AI tools to help ideate and rough out email concepts and full campaign flows early, then carry those through to final, polished designs.

• Concept, design and manage email design initiatives from our weekly/monthly roadmap, understanding areas of opportunity for higher levels of engagement with our customers through design and marketing

• Present work by speaking through your ideas and vision, so all partners can understand your path and know how you're going to improve the design/experience.

• Gather design inspiration and be a leader of sharing new ideas/designs that can help push our email designs to new levels of fidelity.

• Build and maintain our email UI style guide using Claude Design & Figma, keeping it continuously updated and aligned with our latest brand and UI standards.

• Work harmoniously with the product design team, partnering and assisting when needed so that email communications and web communications feel seamless

• Meet with the Product Designer Director weekly to align on scope and vision for the ongoing projects and the future of email marketing

• Work with marketing product owners to help understand product initiatives, business requirements, and future company goals so that these may contribute to your work

• Work with Engineers to facilitate ease of transition from design to build, forming a collaborative partnership that's efficient and effective

• Detail-oriented and a precision to your style of work

• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects in order to meet tight deadlines

• Excellent communication skills

• The ability to work with internal and external cross-functional teams both domestically and internationally

What You’ll Need to Have:

• 2+ years experience in email design is required. A portfolio showcasing agency work as well as in-house work would be ideal. This portfolio should show an in-depth understanding of email design and use cases of at least 15 email projects you've defined.

• Comfortable using AI design tools to explore concepts and produce finished email designs and flows, without losing personal craft or brand voice along the way.

• Degree in Design, Arts, and/or Digital Design
