Sales Development Manager Overview

The Sales Development Manager leads and develops a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) responsible for generating and qualifying new business opportunities. This role owns the top of the sales funnel: building outbound and inbound prospecting strategy, coaching reps on messaging and conversion, and partnering with sales leadership and marketing to keep the pipeline full of qualified opportunities. The ideal candidate combines hands-on sales coaching with strong process and data discipline.

Mission of the Role

Build and lead a high-performing SDR team that consistently fills the pipeline with qualified opportunities, turning outbound and inbound interest into a predictable, scalable engine for revenue growth.

This is a remote role, based in Latin America in Eastern Standard Time.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, onboard, and manage a team of SDRs, setting clear performance expectations and growth paths.

• Coach reps on prospecting techniques, objection handling, discovery calls, and outbound messaging through regular call reviews and role-play.

• Build and refine outbound and inbound prospecting playbooks, cadences, and scripts across phone, email, and social channels.

• Set and track team and individual KPIs, including activity volume, connect rates, meetings booked, and opportunity conversion.

• Partner with Sales and Marketing leadership to align lead qualification criteria, campaign timing, and handoff processes between SDRs and Account Executives.

• Manage CRM hygiene and reporting, ensuring accurate pipeline data and forecasting visibility.

• Run regular 1:1s, team meetings, and training sessions to reinforce skill development and morale.

• Identify and implement tools or automation that improve prospecting efficiency and lead quality.

• Report on team performance and pipeline contribution to senior sales leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 3+ years of experience in a sales development or inside sales role, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or team lead capacity.

• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding pipeline generation targets.

• Experience coaching reps on outbound prospecting and consultative selling techniques.

• Strong working knowledge of CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and sales engagement tools.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Data-driven approach to managing team performance and identifying bottlenecks in the funnel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in B2B sales, particularly in a technology, SaaS, or services environment.

• Familiarity with sales methodologies such as Challenger, or Miller Heinman.

• Experience building or scaling an SDR program from the ground up.
