Strategy Consultant

Role summary

Vaimo is looking for a Senior Consultant who combines commercial strategy with practical UX and design expertise. This person will work alongside the Principal Strategy Consultant on digital commerce engagements, shaping the strategic recommendation and then making it tangible through customer journeys, experience concepts, and prototypes.

This is a strategy role first.Design skill is here to make strategy more concrete, testable, and persuasive, not to replace a dedicated UX/UI team. The right person can move comfortably between a business case and a wireframe, and knows when each is the right tool.

Primary responsibilities:

• Lead defined workstreams within larger strategy engagements, including discovery, current-state assessment, opportunity sizing, and roadmap development.

• Translate business goals and customer insight into experience strategies across B2B and B2C commerce, with clear links to conversion, retention, and revenue outcomes.

• Plan and run research and discovery activities such as stakeholder interviews, customer interviews, journey mapping, heuristic reviews, and competitive and analog benchmarking.

• Produce experience artifacts that make recommendations concrete: service blueprints, journey maps, personas, information architecture, user flows, low- to mid-fidelity wireframes, and clickable concept prototypes.

• Facilitate client workshops that align cross-functional stakeholders on priorities, requirements, and experience direction.

• Partner with Solution Consultants, PIM Consultants, UX/UI Designers, and Insights teams to make sure strategy carries through to design and delivery; provide design direction and critique to UX/UI Designers where needed.

• Use analytics and experimentation data to diagnose experience issues and define hypotheses for conversion and CRO testing.

• Contribute to proposals, diagnostics, and pitch materials, including experience concepts that help prospects picture the outcome.

• Build client-ready presentations that tell a clear, evidence-based story to senior audiences.

• Contribute to Vaimo's thought leadership on digital commerce, content, and customer experience.

Qualifications:

• 6–8+ years of digital experience in strategy, ideally with a consultancy, agency, systems integrator, brand, or retailer.

• Demonstrated experience turning customer and business insight into strategic recommendations, and seeing them through to design and implementation.

• Strong UX practice: research methods, journey mapping, information architecture, interaction design, and prototyping in Figma or equivalent.

• Working knowledge of e-commerce and content platforms (e.g., Adobe Commerce, commercetools, Shopify, Contentful, AEM) and how platform choices shape the experience.

• Comfort with analytics, including reading performance data, forming hypotheses, and connecting experience changes to commercial KPIs.

• Confident client-facing presence, including workshop facilitation and presenting to senior stakeholders.

• Clear, structured writing and storytelling.

• A portfolio showing both strategic thinking and design work, with the reasoning behind the work, not just finished screens.

• Experience with experimentation and CRO programs.

• Familiarity with design systems, accessibility standards, and PIM-driven product experiences.

• Exposure to AI-enabled experiences such as search, personalization, or agentic commerce.
